Burns, Tennessee is a small town within the Nashville-Davidson-Murfreesboro-Franklin Metro Statistical Area. As of 2017, 1,500 people resided here. Originally known as Mile Post 36, the community was inhabited by railroad workers and Union soldiers during the Civil War.
