ABOUT MCEWEN, TN – HAPPY TO BE YOUR HOMETOWN HEATING & AIR CONDITIONING CONTRACTOR!

McEwen, Tennessee is a small city found in eastern Humphreys County. Approximately 1,700 people called McEwen home in 2017, with many residents traveling to nearby communities for work. U.S. Route 70 traverses through the center of the city, and it leads 14 miles east to Dickson and 9 miles west to Waverly. Even Nashville is within a relatively short driving distance, as it is located about 55 miles away via Interstate 40 East.

There are plenty of things to see and do in this community despite the small population. McEwen’s Willow Ridge Golf Course offers a driving range as well as a full 18-hole course, and Bucksnort Trout Ranch is a great place to take the kids fishing on a warm afternoon. Many small businesses support the local economy, such as the McEwen Prescription Shop and Chappell’s Hometown Foodstore, and restaurants include The Grainery and Las Plazzas Mexican Restaurant. McEwen is also home to the famed Irish Picnic, which was established in 1854 and was recognized in the Guinness Book of World Records as the “largest outdoor barbecue” in 1988. The event is held each year on the last Friday and Saturday of July.

McEwen is found within a humid subtropical climate zone. This region is characterized by hot and humid summer months with the possibility of thunderstorms. Temperatures often exceed 90 degrees Fahrenheit, so it is important to take steps to stay cool. A reliable central air conditioner will keep McEwen residents comfortable throughout the season, and periodic tune-ups will ensure these systems stay in peak condition. A well-maintained central A/C uses much less electricity than an overworked system that struggles to keep up with a home’s demands.

Autumn weather in McEwen is warm and dry and will lead to a cool winter. While average daily highs stay in the 40s in January, overnight lows often fall below freezing. Gas or electric furnace systems with high AFUE ratings will help residents to stay warm while minimizing their home heating costs throughout the season.
